Mona Fawaz

Mona Fawaz is associate professor of urban studies and planning at the American University of Beirut, where she coordinates a graduate program in urban design and planning. Her recent research seeks to reinscribe a political framework of rights within contemporary discourses on housing markets, informality, and property. She has published her work in leading journals such as the International Journal of Urban and Regional Studies, the Journal of Planning Education and Research, City and Society, and Built Environment, among others.
